Sebastian Sylvester (34-4-1, 16 KOs) will return to the ring on October
1 when he faces unbeaten Grzegorz Proksa (25-0, 18 KOs) for the vacant
European Middleweight Title. The fight will take place at the
Jahnsportforum in Neubrandenburg. It will be the Hurricane´s first bout
since losing his IBF Middleweight Title to Daniel Geale in May. “I am
really looking forward to this clash,” Sylvester said. “The initial plan
was to participate in an elimination tournament for another world title
shot but then I got the chance to fight for the vacant European itle.
This is a great opportunity and I will make the most of it. However,
it´s a risky fight to take. It´s all or nothing. If I lose, it will be a
long way back to the top. But I am very confident of success.”
Coach Karsten Roewer expects a tough battle. “Proksa is very aggressive
and makes a lot of pressure. And he is a southpaw. It will be a tough
fight. But if Sebastian does his homework, he will be successful.”
This is sure to be another great Sauerland bill with more of their stable to appear on the undercard.
