Tante Sissi a Sandown sizzler

Tante Sissi makes her eagerly awaited handicap debut in the 4.25 at Sandown and rates the best bet on the card at 5/1.

Alan King’s mare had some useful form in bumpers, including when runner-up to the classy Swincombe Flame in a listed contest at Sandown where she had the very useful baby Shine 1 1/4 lengths behind in third.

She put in a really eye-catching debut over hurdles when fourth to Nicky henderson’s highly regarded Tetlami at Kempton in December after 239 days on the sidelines, staying on nicely to be beaten 9 1/2 lengths without being knocked about.

The five-year-old finished just 2 lengths behind Knight Pass, who went on to land a handicap hurdle in good style off a mark of 125.

She then went on to finish an excellent third to Swincombe Flame at Wincanton, and that winner went on to land the ultra-competitive Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle off a mark of 123.

Those runs make her look potentially thrown-in off a mark of just 113, especially as she looks the type who is improving with every run over the obstacles and has plenty more to offer.

Connections also look to have found her a weak looking contest for her first venture into handicap company, and at 5/1 I think she is the best bet on the card.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 5pts win Tante Sissi (5/1 Boylesports, BetVictor – BOG)
