Team Khan bouyed by new TV deal & new trainer

Former unified world Lightweight champion Amir Khan and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer were in the capital today for the official launch of Khan’s up coming fight against Carlos Molina 17-0-1, 7 KO’s on the 15th December at the LA Sports Arena, the 12 rounder to be televised live here in the UK on SKY Sports. The bout Khan’s first since losing to Danny Garcia back in July this year. Khan now under new trainer Virgil Hunter will be looking to get his in ring career back on track after suffering 2 consecutive losses, however outside the ring Khan is aiming to take boxing promotion by storm having just partnered with long time promoter Dennis Hobson to launch Super Fight Promotions with the company signing Khan’s younger brother Haroon and Irish Olympian John Joe Nevin in the last week alone.

Khan v Molina will be shown live in the US on Showtime the new TV partner to Golden Boy who are planning to cover more boxing including staging some UK event VP Stephen Espinoza told reporters he added that we are please to have Khan on board as he’s one of the top 5 fighter to be known by the US viewing public.

Amir Khan said”I’m pleased with what a achieved under Freddie Roach, but Virgil has been teaching me new things and I’m learning all the time,” and added”I’m an offensive fighter by nature and Virgil is getting to grips teaching me defensive tactics too, preparing me for a world title in 2013″

Richard Schaefer told DAILY SPROT that; Khan v Molina will be part of a massive Golden Boy pre-Christmas family day where everyone will be able to meet the fighters and that tickets for the fight will go on sale price from US $20.
