That Molly looks magic at 12s

The unexposed Thats Molly looks on a potentially lenient mark in the 4.30 at Newcastle and is of serious interest at 12/1.

Eric Alston’s filly was a massive eye-catcher on her debut when finishing a 2 1/2 length fourth of 10 to Planetex at Ripon in a race that has worked out well.

After being at the rear she began to make good headway when denied a clear run a furlong from home, and then ran on strongly to be going on at the finish without being knocked about.

The winner winner went on to land handicap off 65 by 4 1/2 lengths and the runner-up Majestic Mannahan landed a gamble when scoring at Carlisle off 60.

That makes the selection look well treated off a mark of just 52, and she showed that she would be able to take advantage on her handicap debut over 7f at Catterick last time out off 55.

The daughter of Hawk Wing was again held up off the pace and was denied a clear run rounding the home turn before keeping on under hands and heels to finish a never nearer sixth of 9 to Lady De Sol.

Although beaten 7 lengths she finished full of running, and I fully expected hjer to turn around the tables with Ursus who finished runner-up now dropped back down to 6f.

I think that she needs a strong run 6f to to seen at her best, and from the foot of the weights a huge run looks on the cards.

It’s also interesting that although her handler hasn’t had a winner at the track in the last 12 months from five runners, four of them have managed to make the frame.

I think she is overpriced at 12/1, and at those odds looks terrific each-way value in what looks a winnable race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Thats Molly (12/1 bet365 – BOG)
