The Quarterjack is back down to a handy mark and is of serious  interest at 8/1 in the 5.10 at Windsor now taking a drop in class.

Ron Hodges’ gelding showed much improved form last summer when winning three times, scoring twice at Bath before landing a class 4 amateur riders handicap at Newbury off a mark of 69.

He now gets into this class 5 contest off just 1lb higher (70) and that gives him major claims at the weights – especially with Philip Prince in the saddle taking another 5lb of his back.

The four-year-old also ran really well on his second start this season when beaten just a neck by Dunhoy at Salisbury off a mark of 72 in a class 4 contest and was also far from disgraced last time out at Newamrket when fourth of 7 (beaten 4 lengths) to Semeen in a class 3 affair off 71.

The form of that race looks strong in the contest of this contest, and off 1lb lower and down in class 2 grades this looks a great opportunity for The Quaterjack to notch his first success of 2013.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win The Quarterjack (8/1 Hills, Paddy Power – BOG)
