9/2 Lucky Dan can keep the Wolves from the door

Lucky Dan looks to have plenty going for him in the 3.40 at Wolverhampton and is strongly fancied at 9/2 to land the spoils.

Paul Green’s won over course and distance three starts back when beating Holy Angel by 3/4 of a length off a mark of 72 and followed that up with a really solid effort when a 1 1/2 length third of 9 to Clear Praise at the track over 6f off today’s mark of 75.

The slow early pace was against him that day, and his effort last time out when just sixth of 8 to Gladiatrix at Southwell can easily be forgiven as he doesn’t perform at his best on the fibersand surface.

The return to the poltrack, and this venue where he has three wins to his name, will suit him down to the ground and his current mark is certainly workable judged on his effort behid Clear Praise.

Indeed, he is just 1lb higher than when winning here back in October and another plus is that he has the services of Joe Fanning in the saddle who knows how to get a good tune out of him.

He is also now dropping back into class 5 company (in which he was last successful) having run in a class 4 and a class 3 on his last two starts, and everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Lucky Dan (9/2 Betfred, BetVictor – BOG)
