Tiny Dancer fancied to waltz home at Carlisle

Tiny Dancer has form which gives him a major shout at the weights in the 3.00 at Carlisle today and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1.

The gelding showed steady progress over hurdles when trained by Micky Hammond, finisnihing a good third of 9 to Damascus Steel at Hexham on his final start for that handler.

He then put in an eye-catching effort on his first start for Alan Swinbank at this track when finishing fourth of 9 to Milan Bound.

Although eventually beaten 28 lengths that day he ran far better than that indicates, as he was not knocked about when weakening out of contention two from home having travelled wedll on the heels of the leaders for much of the 2m 4f contest.

The form of the race looks decent in the context of this contest as the winner has since gone on to follow-up in facile fashion at Uttoxeter while the third home Blakemount ran a stormer at Newcastle yesterday to finish a close-up third to the the highly regarded Ballyalton and Oscar Rock in a well-above average class 2 novice contest.

It makes Tiny Dacner look on a handy mark in this race off 97, and although he didn’t back up that effort when beaten on his handicap debut last time out at Kelso he didn’t tun too badly until making a mistake and getting outpaced two from home and the step up in trip here may well see him in a far better light.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Tiny Dancer (7/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
