Toledo looks nicely treated on handicap debut in the 1.40 at Lingfield today and worth siding with at 9/2 now dropped back in trip.
Richard Hannon’s colt has had just three starts, and shaped with bags of promise in the first of those when sixth fo 14 to Torment over 6f at Windsor.
The three-year-old showed bags of early speed from a wide draw to tack over to the rails and lead until being headed inside the last and weakening in the last 100 yards to be beaten 3 1/2 lengths.
Toledo finsihed just 1 1/4 lengthsh behind the third home Human Nature who has won twice since and is now rated 90, and that makes him look potentially well-treated off an opening mark of just 73.
He also comes into the contest having shaped well when third over 7f at Lingfield last month after 179 days on the sidelines, and that should have blown away the cobwebs abd put him spot on for this.
The drop back to 6f is also sure to suit, and Toledo looks weighted to take some pegging back if able to dominate in the early stages.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Toledo (9/2 Stan James – BOG)
