Tommy Taylor weighted to go well in York finale

The well-weighted Tommy Taylor has a good record in class 4 company, so at 10/1 looks worth an each-way play in the 5.30 at York today.

This Kevin Ryan trained five-year-old is on a long losing run having not scored since September 2017 at this venue where he beat Downforce by a nose in the Listed 6f Garrowby Stakes off an official rating of 100.

He got put up to 107 for that win and went on to round off the campaign with a 7 3/4 length seventh of 10 to Blue Point in a Group 3 at Ascot.

He also ran well on his final start of the campaign here when a 3 1/4 length fifth of 17 to Major Jumbo.

Having started last season on a mark of 107 he is now able to race off 83 having run well on more than one occasion this season.

They include when third in a class 2 at Doncaster off 91 and a staying on two lengths by Diocles Of Rome over 7f in a class 3 at the same venue off 89.

Tommy Taylor is now on a mark which makes him dangerously well handicapped, and has won once and been placed three times in four starts in the grade.

With Megan Nicholls also taking off a handy 3lb with her claim, everything looks in place for a big run.
