Town Charter looks thrown-in at the weights and gets the max bet treatment in the 4.20 at Ayr today now dropped back in grade.
Mark Johnston’s three-year-old won his maiden at the venue 12 months ago and has posted solid efforts in his last three starts.
They include when a staying on seven length third of 14 to Parfait in a class 2 contest over 7f at Newmarket off 87 and an eye-catching keeping on fourth last time out in a similar grade affair at Chester over 7f when slowly away from a poor wide draw off 87.
Those runs suggest he is well worth a another crack at 1m and Town Charter has since been dropped 2lb to 85.
That makes him look dangerously well-treated in this class 3 affair in which he receives a handy weight-for-age allowance from all his rivals.
He is rated just 3lb below top weight Two For Two yet gets 8lb from that rival.
It gives Town Charter outstanding claims and his handler has a terrific record with similar types and looks to have found a glorious opportunity for him to get back on the scoresheet.
