Traditionelle has been knocking on the door of late and gets the max bet treatment at 7/2 in the 5.25 at Ripon today.
Tim Easterby’s filly has only had seven starts and ran well on the third of those when fourth of 9 to Red Pike at Thirsk.
The daughter of Indesatchal was sent off 80/1 for that 6f contest, and after racing in touch kept on to be beaten 7 lengths without ever threatening to land a blow.
The first two home where officially rated 77 and 75 respectively going into the contest, and the winner has gone on and scored again since.
Traditionelle then went on to run better than her finishing position suggests when fifth over 6f at Southwell, and then backed that up with a a staying on fifth of 13 to By Rights in a 5f handicap at Nottingham.
Traditionelle was the given a very tender ride at Doncaster when a fast finishing second of 13 to Katawi where she was held-up off the lpace travelleing strongly, and not asked a serious question until the race was all but over.
In the end she was beaten only two lengths, and it’s fair to say that her rider was far from vigorous.
It was an effort which suggested Traditionelle was ahead of her handiap mark, and that looked to be the dcase last time out when she was denied a clear run two from home when coming from off the pace before finisning well and failing to overhaul Sartori by just 3/4 of over today’s course and distance.
Although now 3lb higher, Traditionelle now drops into maiden handicap company and this is far easier than her last two assignments and looks a golden opportunity for the three-year-old to open her account.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 10pts win Traditionelle (7/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
