Trautmann runs Newcastle well and makes plenty of appeal at 5/1 in the 2.00 there today.
The Rebecca Menzies trained five-year-old has won twice and been placed once in the starts at the venue.
Both the wins have come over this afternoon’s trip of 1m 4f and in the last of those two starts back he overcame a bad start and was forced to race otu wode before staying on strongly to beat Visitant by a neck off a rating of 64.
Trautmann wa svalue for more than the winning margin has has since run really well over 2m here to finish a short-head second of 12 to Grey Mist off 66 when throwing down a sustained challenge before losing on the bob.
He has been nudged up another 3lb for that, but the pair pulled five lengths clear of the field and the drop back to 1m 4f is definitely in his favour.
Trautmann is clearly at the top of his game at present, so with the stable in good form everything looks in place for another big run under Alistair Rawlinson who has been in the plate for his last two aformentioned runs.
Daily Sport recomennded bet: 2pts each-way Trautmann (5/1 bet365, Ladbrokes – BOG)
