Tuck into the 10s about Tongalooma

Tongalooma has been given a chance by the handicapper and makes plenty of appeal at 10/1 in the 5.10 at Catterick under conditions she will relish.

James Moffat’s mare was in good form at this time last year, scoring over course and distance on good-to-soft ground before going on to slam Sharp Bullet by 6 lengths in the mud at Hamilton off a mark of 60.

The handicapper reacted to that effort by putting her up a whopping 11lb, and under the circumstances she didn’t run too badly when finishing fourth of 5 to Captain Scooby (beaten just over 3 lengths) when returned to the Scottish venue.

Although the six-year-old has not been at her best in two starts this season, she is entitled to have needed those outings and should now be approaching her peak.

She is also now back down to a mark of 64, and with Lucy Alexander taking off another 3lb is effectively just 1lb higher than her last success.

That gives her every chance from a handicapping perspective, and with the ground having coming in her favour it would be no surprise to see her bounce back to form.

I certainly don’t think she should be available to back at double figure odds, and at 10/1 she looks terrific each-way value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Tongalooma (10/1 bet365 – BOG, Sky Bet)
