Two for Taunton

Street ready to do the Talking

Talkonthestreet is a horse that I really like and he makes plenty of appeal at 13/2 to make a winning debut over hurdles in the opener at Taunton today (12.40).

A winner on his sole start between the flags in Ireland, the gelding has created a really giood impression since joining Philip Hobbs and finishing runner-up in both his starts in bumpers.

The four-year-old stayed on really well without being knocked about to be beaten 3 lengths by Sir Johnson in a decent contest at Aintree and followed up with a similar effort when failing by just a head to overhaul Be All Man at Warwick at the beginning of the month.

On both occasion she shaped as if crying out for a step up in trip, and today’s 2m 4f journey looks absolute ideal and sure to bring about further improvement.

To me the son of Milan has always looked the type who will thrive once going over the obstacles, and although this looks a hot race he is a horse with enormous potential who needs keeping on the right side.

I will be disappointed if he does not run a huge race this afternoon, and at the odds on offer he looks an each-way seal.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Talkonthestreet (13/2 Stan James)

Entertainer ready to star

Street Entertainer has been given a break to freshen him up and looks overpriced at 7/1 in the 4.00 at Taunton for the in-form David Pipe stable.

The gelding looked an improved performer and one to keep on the right side when winning twice in the spring, most notably when landing a valuable handicap at Punchestown.

Always travelling well that day, he tracked the leaders before making smooth headway to lead at the last and draw clear to beat Magical memoir by a comfortable four lengths.

That race has thrown up a whole host of subsequent winners and the form looks rock solid in the context of this contest.

Although he now races off a 17lb higher mark he showed that it wasn’t beyond him when a close third in a valuable handicap at Market Rasen back in July before probably being over the top when 13th of 2o to Moon Dice at the Galway Festival when last seen in action in the same month.

Connections, who hold him in quite high regard, have wisely given him a much deserved break and they have proved time and time again that they are second to none to getting one fit and ready to do itself justice at the first time of asking.

I think he will be very hard to keep out of the frame at the very least, and at 7/1 he represents solid each-way value in my eyes.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Street Entertainer (7/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
