6/1 Ryton Runner ready to strike
Ryton Runner looks to have an outstanding chance of notching his first success in the 7.20 at Wolverhampton tonight and is of major interest at 6/1.
John Gosden’s charge has shown bags of promise in three maidens and has subsequently caught the eye in two handicap runs.
He was a real eye-catcher when staying on powerfully to finish third to stable companion Man Of God on his debut as a juvenile and followed that up with a fine 18th of 27 to Fury in a valuable sales race at Newmarket from a poor draw.
The gelding stepped up on that effort when making a highly promising reappearance at Doncaster back in April when fifth of 14 to Sud Pacifique.
Although beaten just under 7 lengths he kept on well under tender handling having been ridden from off the pace and was certainnly not knocked about.
The winner went on to land a decent handicap at York and is now officially rated 91, and the form looks solid.
He then didn’t have the race run to suit when 7th of 9 to Proud Chieftan at Newmarket, but left that form well behind when a staying on third to A Boy Named Suzi at Kempton when last seen in action back in September.
That race was over 12f and the way he was finishing suggested that he was crying out for the extra two furlongs he tackles tonight.
There is know doubt in my mind that he has the potentially to be far better than his current rating of 74, and at 6/1 with Boylesports he looks cracking value.

16/1 Daniel Thomas too big to ignore
Daniel Thomas isn’t the easiest horse to catch right but is undoubtedly well handicapped at his best and looks worth chancing at 16/1 in the 7.50 at Wolverhampton.
The gelding put in a really solid effort on his debut for Richard Guest when chasing home Monashee Rock at this track, finishing with a flourish after a slow start and not enjoying the clearest of runs before being beaten just 1/2 a a length.
He then blew all chance at the start on his latest outing here when very slowly away before staying on late to finish 6th of 12 to Akraim.
The nine-year-old was also forced to race very wide that day, and was not knocked about whatsoever once it was clear his chance had gone.
Although he has now not scored since December 2009 that win came off a mark of 70 over course and distance, and he is now down to a rating of just 54.
Given that he clearly retains plenty of ability when the cards do drop right that gives him a huge chance from a handicapping perspective.
His tendency to start slowly is an obvious concern, but if he can get away on terms and he gets luck in running then there is little doubt in my mind that he is capable of scoring an overdue success on a track which he runs well.
Martin Harley, who has a 26% strike rate when teaming up with Guest in the past 12 months, is also an eye-catching jockey booking and at 16/1 he looks simply too big to let go unbacked.
