The unexposed Two B’s looks worth siding with at 5/1 in the 2.50 at Newcastle today now upped in trip after posting an improved effort last time out.
The Tim Easterby trained gelding is a brother to winning stayer Bollin Judith and from a family that the yard know well.
The three-year-old has hinted at ability in three quick maiden runs over inadequate trips, before flopping on handicap debut over 1m 4f at Ripon when a tailed off last of seven to Opera Fan off an opening mark of 62.
However he showed that running to be all wrong two weeks ago at the same venue over 1m 6f when racing keenly on the heels of the leaders before keeping on at the once pace to finish a 2 1/2 length fourth of 8 to Modify off 60.
That run suggested that Two B’s should be capable of picking up a weak handicap like this, and he has since been dropped 1lb by the assessor to 59.
Given his lightly raced profile, that looks exploitable with the possibility of further improvement to come – especially now stepped up to a trip which is in line with his breeding.
Connections would certainly struggle to find a weaker class 6 contest than this which is full of exposed and disappointing types, and it looks a nice oppertunity for Two B’s to open his account.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Two B’s (5/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
