United the bet at 8/5 to beat arch rivals Liverpool

The first of today’s Super Sunday games on Sky Sports 1 sees arch rivals Man United and Liverpool clash at Old Trafford (1.30pm KO), and the home side have to be the bet at the 8/5 on offer with BetVictor, Coral and Hills to come out on top.

The Red Devils have won eight of the last nine Premier League home games against Liverpool (W8, D0, L1).

David Moyes’ men have also looked to be finding a bit of form of late, having put in a solid display to beat West Brom3-0  last weekend and kept three top flight clean sheets in a row.

They have a better defensive record than Liverpool, and although Brendan Rodgers’ side have done well this season the pressure is on them, rather than United, in this encounter and their star striker Luis Suarez is on a bit of a goal drought at presenet having scored just once in his last six matches.

To me that makes United good value at odds against to win on their home patch, and in Robin van Persie they have a striker who has a terrific record against the Reds.

The Dutchman has scored six goals in his last seven league starts against Liverpool, and that makes him look well worth a punt at the 11/2 on offer with BetVictor and Coral in the first goalscorer market.
