United value at 23/10 to beat Chelsea again

Chelsea will bet out for revenge when they play host to Man United in the Capital One  Cup tonight (7.45pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1), but once again it’s the visitors that look the value at 23/10 with BetVictor to come out on top.

The Blues had two men sent off when losing 3-2 on Sunday in a match which had everything, and bookmakers seem to have taken the view that they were unlucky and will gain some sort of compensation.

However United started in terrific style to go 2-0 before Chelsea staged a fightback, and I am not one that believes backing “hard luck” stories is a good thing.

Much of course, will depend on what sides both managers decide to field, as a number of key players are sure to be rested.

United will almost certainly be much weaker, with Sir Alex expected to rest Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney.

However they still have plenty of attacking firepower at their disposal, including Javier Hernandez who scored the winner Sunday to further enhance his  fine record against Chelsea.

He looks good value at 8/1 with Paddy Power to score the opener, along with Danny Welbeck at 9/1 with Ladbrokes.

Split stakes on both looks the way to play, although I would also suggest having a punt on Hernandez scoring anytime at a standout 5/2 with Ladbrokes.

Over 2.5 goals also looks a solid bet at 4/6 with Stan James, and I am going to take a punt United to win 2-1 or 3-1 at odds of 12/1 and 28/1 with BetVictor and Betfred respectively.
