Valdaw has slipped to a dangerous mark and looks cracking value at 14/1 in the 3.15 at Kempton today.

Michael Murphy’s gelding won four times on the polytrack in the early part of last year, including twice over course and distance.

The last of his victories came at Wolverhampton where after travelling strongly he ran on well to beat Climaxfortackle by 3/4 of a length off a mark of 68.

The six-year-old then wasn’t disgraced off the same mark when finishing fourth to Langley Vale at Lingfield, but he has subsequently struggled in nine starts and failed to trouble the judge.

However, his handicap mark has fallen as a result and hw now gets into this off just 58.

That is 10lb lower than whne last successful and gives him major claims at the weights on the pick of his form.

The son of Val Royal also ran far better than his finishing position suggests on his penultimate starts over course and distance when finishing a 3 lengths 7th of 10 to Street Power after getting hampered at the start, and with Shane Kelly in the saddle is now simply too well-treated to igore in what looks a winnable race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Valdaw (14/1 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
