Vallarta looks nicely treated in the 4.25 at Southwell today and makes plenty of appeal at 13/2.
Ruth Carr’s gelding made a winning return to action over course and distance 12 months ago when scoring off a mark of 75 and went on to win at Ayr off 78.
The six-year-old also ran well when fourth to Right Touch in a class 3 handicap off 81 and 11th of 20 to Rex Imperator off the same rating in another class 3 affair at Doncaster.
He is now able to race in this class 4 contest off 79, just 1lb higher than when last victorious, and that gives him a big shout at the weights.
Vallarta also clearly goes well fresh, so an absence of 153 days shouldn’t be an issue, and everything looks in place for a big run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Vallarta (13/2 bet365, Paddy Power – BOG)
