Vuvuzela looks niceley treated on the pick of his form in the 3.30 at Southwell today and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 14/1.

The gelding showed progressive form over hurdles when trained by Ferdy Murphy in 2012, finishing an excellent 3 length third of 13 to African Gold (now rated 148 over hurdles) at Wetherby before scoring in good style by 1 1/2 lengths from the now 118-rated Tick Tocker at Sedgefield.

Vuvuzela was then on the sideliens for 517 days before moving to join Rebecca Menzies, and posted a solid effort on handicap debut for his new handler when third at Hexham off an opening mark of 110.

He then disappointed at Perth, before running a far better race at Wetherby when falling at the last when in third place.

The eight-year-old could then finish just 7th of 12 to Masterofdeception when last seen in action at Aintree, but that was a decent race in the context of this contest and the 3m 1f trip seemed to stretch his stamina.

The drop back to 2m 5f looks sutre to suit, and having been given a break to freshen up, he looks on a workable mark of 109 judged on the pick of his form now fitted with the tongue-tie for the first time.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Vuvuzela (14/1 Boylesports – BOG)
