Emotions will be high when when Wales take on Costa Rica tonight (7.45pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 2) in the Gary Speed Memorial Match , and Chris Coleman’s side are taken to rise to the occasion and land odds of 4/6.

The Football Association of Wales wants the occasion to be a celebration of the former Wales manager’s life, with fundraising for a number of charities nominated by Speed’s family taking place before and after the game.

Welsh musicians, including Super Furry Animals and Bryn Terfel, will perform ahead of kick-off while former international team-mates of Speed, including Ryan Giggs, John Hartson, Mark Hughes, Neville Southall and Robbie Savage, will be introduced to the crowd at half-time.

Speed’s two sons, Ed and Tommy, will lead the teams out onto the field.

The Cardiff City stadium is sure to be packed to the rafters to honour Speed who made his international playing debut against Costa Rica in 1990.

The side are also sure to be fired up with a “do it for Gary” attitude, and they come into the game having ended 2011 with three straight wins at a 7-1 goal tally.

The South American side are generally poor travellers, but they’ve held both Spain and Argentina to friendly draws recently and lost just 1-0 to Brazil.

However there is no way that they will be up for this like wales, and the Dragons have to be the bet at the 4/6 on offer with Hills, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power.
