Wapping shaped really well in two starts last season and makes plenty of appeal at 100/30 in the 2.45 at Yarmouth today.
David Lanigan’s charge showed pogressive form in four starts as a juvenile, getting off the mark on his final start of 2015 when easily landing a maiden at Bath.
He was then off the track for 300 days before finishing a fine 3/4 length third to Muzdawaj in a competitive handicap for the grade at Newbury off an opening mark of 78.
After being held-up in rear, Wapping made good headway two from home to through down a strong challenge inside the last before being unable to find any extra close home.
Wapping backed that up with a solid 1 3/4 length second at Lingfield off 82, staying on well having been given too much to do in a slowly run race by George Baker.
In both those races his mind didn’t look totally focussed on the job and Wapping has since been gelded.
That looks a shrewd move and he looks the type who should have plenty more to offer as a four-year-old and well capable of winning races off his current mark of 84.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Wapping (100/30 generally available – use BOG firms)
