One Boy has slipped to a handy mark and looks worth a punt at 8/1 in the 5.10 at Pontefract today.

Paul Midgley’s seven-year-old is a seven time winner on the turf and was last successful at Beverley 10 months gao when scoring by 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 70.

He is now able to race off 64 having been dropped a total of 11lb in five runs since the start of the campaign.

That is a career-low and One Boy didn’t shape too badly last time out when fifth of six at Ripon on his first start after wind surgery.

It sugggested that his time could be near and he has a 25% strike rate in this grade (class 5).

Rain is also forecast to hit the venue and One Boy, who has won on good, likes to get his toe in so it’s a case of the more the better for him.

Oakley Brown also takes a handy 7lb off his back, so from a good draw in stall 1 he looks to have plenty going for him.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win One Boy (8/1 Boylesports, Coral, Ladbrokes – BOG)
