Well-treated Ballybolley worth a bet at Kempton

Ballybolley has dropped to a handy mark and with the drying ground in his favour looks worth siding with at 8/1  in the 3.50 at Kempton today.

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ charge was a very smart bumper horse, winning all three of his races in that sphere including the Champion Bumper at Aintree.

He has since gone on to score twice ober hurdles, and was far from disgraced in his last run over the smaller obstacles on his final start last season when fifth of 12 to Nichols Canyon in a Grade 1 contest at Aintree.

Although yet to sciore in five runs over fences this season, Ballboley has shaped as if returning to form in his last two starts when finishing third.

He has been dropped a further 2lb since the last of those, and having started life over fences on a mark of 135 is now able to race off just 125.

That makes him dangerously well-treated on the pick of his form, and he now gets the good ground he relishes as all his five career successes have come on ground officially described as no wrose than good-to-soft.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Ballybolley (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
