Well-treated Tenhoo worth a wager at Haydock

The well-treated Tenhoo has shaped as if returning to form and makes plenty of appeal at 15/2 in the 4.50 at Haydock today now stepped back up to 1m 4f.

Eric Alston’s nine-year-old was last successful over course and distance back in June 2013 when beating Zenafire by a head off a mark of 66.

He went on to finish a solid third off 70 and is now able to race in this off just 56.

That is 10lb lower than when last successful and the lowest mark the veteran has run off for four years.

It gives Tenhoo every chance at the weights, and he caught the eye in his last three starts and shaped as if coming to the boil.

The last of those came at this track sisx days ago over 1m 2f where Tenhoo raced keenly in mid division before making good headway two from home but then being unable to quicken and finishing a 5 1/2 length sixth of 10 to Merchant Of Medici.

Although now only 1lb better of with that rival, the step back up to 1m 4f may well enable Tenhoo to turn the placings.

He has won 4 of his 18 starts over it, and two of those have come over course and distance.

Tenhoo also has a good record in amateur rider contests, and his last three runs in them under today’s rider have seen him finish first and fourth on two occasions.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Tenhoo (15/2 Sky Bet – BOG)
