Well-weighted Clovelly Bay a bet at 15/2 now eased in grade

Clovelly Bay looks worth a bet at 15/2 in the 7.30 at Kemptonn today now dropped into class 6 company for the first time in his career.

Marcus Tregoning’s seven-year-old is on a losing run of 14 having not scored since landing a class 5 handicap at Lingfield back in December 2016 off a mark of 70.

However, he has run well to make the frame on a couple of occasions including when a head second here last April in a class 5 off 75.

Clovelly Bay is now able to race in this lower grade affair off a career-low off just 62 and that gives him major claims at the weights on the pick of his form.

He also comes into the race having finished a decent 3 length fifth of 12 to Point Of Time over 1m 4f here three days ago when his run flattened out late on.

The drop back to 1m 2f should not inconvenience judged on that display and he is entitled to come on for that outing – his second following a break.

So, in a race lack any real strength in depth, Clovelly Bay has more going for him than most and looks decent value at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Clovelly Bay (15/2 Betfair, Paddy Power – BOG)
