Who’s That Chick has one piece of form that would give her a big shout in the 5.00 at Brighton today and at 33/1 she looks worth an each-way wager.
Ralph Smith’s well-bred filly hasn’t been at her best in her last two starts, but she is till realtively lightly-raced and her 5th of 12 to Lyric Ballad on her handicap debut at Sandown in a class 5 contest back in May reads well in the context of this class 6 affair.
The daughter of Footstepsinthesand was held-up at the rear of the field that day before making headway a furlong from home and keeping on inside the last to be b beaten 4 lengths off a mark of 55.
The winner, to whom she was conceding 1lb, went on to follow-up off a mark of 69 before finishing third when trying to complete the hat-trick off 76, and Jacobella, Equitissa and Mandy The Nag – who finished behind her in sixth, seventh and eighth respectively – have also come out and won since to give the form a strong look.
The selection then wasn’t disgraced when finishing third of 5 to Yojojo over today’s course and distance off 55 where the good-to-soft ground looked against her.
Since then she has been well-beaten in a mile contest on the all-weather at Lingfield and a 1m 2f contest at Nottingham, but the handicapper has cut her some slack and she noe gets into this off 51.
That would give her every chnace in this if bouncing back and running to the level she showed at Sandown, and it’s interesting that Ryan Tate who rode her for the first time that day is now back in the saddle.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Who’s That Chick (33/1 Hills – BOG)
