12/1 Eshoog has plenty in her favour
The switch back to the all-weather surface looks sure to suit Eshoog and she looks overpriced at 12/1 in the 6.50 at Wolverhampton this evening.
Phil McEntee’s filly was disappointing at Yarmouth last time out, but raced on the wrong side of the track and is better judged on her previous effort when collared close home over 6f at this track.
She led the field at a blistering pace that day and only got caught deep inside the final furlong after being ridden two lengths clear two from home and looking to have the race in the bag.
That was a solid effort, and given that she started life in handicaps off a mark of 76 this season she looks very well treated now off a mark of 63.
The drop back in trip to 5f will also play to her strengths, and this track clearly suits her as she was also runner-up on her only other visit when chasing home Mawjoodah off a mark of 69 back in August.
Leonna Mayor, who has teamed up with her five times – winning once, and finishing runner-up on three occasions – also takes off another invaluable 7lb and clearly knows how to get a tune out of her.
Everything looks in place for a huge run, and the 12/1 on offer looks massive.
At those odds she looks terrific each-way value.

El Libertador worth chancing at 18/1
El Libertador has been a costly horse to follow this season, but there is no doubting he is very well treated and looks worth one last chance to bounce back at 18/1 in the 7.50 at Wolverhampton tonight.
The five-year-old is certainly not the easiest horse to win with, as his record of just one win from 19 starts confirms, and he has looked temperamental in his last couple of outings.
However his win came off a mark of 57 at the track and he is no down to a mark of 54.
Eric Wheeler’s has put in a couple of eye-catching runs this season, as well as some truly shocking ones!
He ran well when fifth 8th of 13 to Putin at Kempton three starts ago, where although beaten five lengths ran far better than his finishing position suggests.
Held up towards the rear travelling strongly, he didn’t get the clearest of runs when attempting to make his move two from home and had to be switched to make his effort.
For a moment he looked as if he would pick up the leaders but he was unable to quicken and his run flattened out.
However he was not knocked about at all by Jamie Spencer, who quickly accepted the situation and allowed him to come home in his own time to be beaten just under five lengths.
Prior to that effort he had disappointed at Windsor, but in his previous outing at Sandown he had also shaped with plenty of promise.
After being held-up well off the pace he made good headway a furlong from home and stayed on inside without ever threatening to get to the leaders to be beaten just under 5 lengths.
Given his strike rate and questionable attitude he is obviously not one to go overboard with and is a risky punt to say the least.
However he is now undoubtedly well treated if putting his best foot forward, and at the 18/1 on offer with Boylesports looks worth risking.
