Willie remain unbeaten?

Willie Mullins dominance of National Hunt racing has prompted Betfair to offer markets on his embarrassment of equine riches to remain unbeaten this season.

The reigning Champion Hurdler, Faugheen, who is yet to taste defeat in 10 racecourse appearances, is 7-4 to maintain his 100% record this season, while Queen Mum Champion Chase favourite, Un De Sceaux is 11-4  to keep his excellent record over fences.

Supreme Novice Hurdle winner, Douvan, can be backed at 9-2 to keep his good record intact as he sets out on a novice chasing campaign and last year’s JLT Novice Chase winner, Vatour, is the 20-1 outsider of the four to go unbeaten, reflecting the strength in depth of the staying chase division.

Betfair Spokesman Barry Orr commented today: “Horses as good as these four always prompt strong debate among punters so we have given the argument some context by pricing up the eventuality of them remaining unbeaten.

“Faugheen has already been well backed at 7-4 and surprisingly given he’s going novice chasing, Douvan, has also had his supporters at 9-2.”
