Wintered Well is potentially thrown in on his handicap debut in the 3.05 at Doncaster today and is of major interest at 13/2.

Jenny Candlish’s gelding had some useful form in bumpers, winning on his debut at Market Rasen before going on to finish in the frame on his next two starts.

Although he then failed to cut any ice in four starts in novice hurdles in fairly decent class 4 company he now gets into this off a mark of just 82 and is likely to prove a different proposition now tackling handicaps.

On the abiity he showed in his bumper runs the assessor has given him a huge chance at the weights, and having been given a break to freshen up it would be no surpise to see him make a mockery of his opening mark in what looks a weak class 5 contest.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Wintered Well (13/2 Betfred, BetVictor, Paddy Power, Stan James – BOG)
