World Cup Betting Preview: Argentina v Iran

Argentina are an unbackable 1/8 to win their game against Iran today (5pm KO, Live on ITV1) and the best value bet looks to be over 3.5 goals in the game at 6/4 with Coral.

The South American side have won 10 and lost just one of their last 13 World Cup group games (D2), scoring 26 and conceding just five.

They have on of the best attacking units in the tournement, led by Lional Messi, and face a side who struggle to score goals and simply don’t have the class to win this.

It’s going to be an all out assualt on the Iran goal from the first whistle, and the game has goals written all over it.

Messi to score first makes plenty of appeal at the 11/5 on offer with Paddy Power, and I also think that Argentina are worth backing on the handicap (-2).

They can be backed at a standout 7/5 with Boylesports to give their opponents a two goal start and a beating, and that looks huge given that they are as short as even money elsewhere.

In the correct scoire market, split stakes on Argentina winning 4-0 or 5-0 looks the way to play at odds of 12/1 and 16/1 respectively with Ladbrokes.
