World Cup Betting Preview: Costa Rica v England

Costa Rica look outstanding value at 7/2 with BetVictor to inflict further misery on England today (5pm KO, Live on ITV1).

England have been beaten in both their games and yet go into the game odds-on against a  side who are unbeaten.

Roy Hodgson’s men are a top priced 10/11, despite the fact that the gaffer has made nine changes to the staring XI to let everyone have a run out.

Costa Rica have played really well to beat Uruguay and Italy, and judged on what I have seen in the tournament they are entitled to be favoruites for this.

There is no way on earth that they should be 7/2, especially as they haev a pacey attack capable of causing the Three Lions all sorts of problems.

Costa Rica have also scored in all seven of their previous World Cup meetings with teams from Europe, and Joel Campbell looks cracking each-way value at 9/1 with Paddy Power in the first goalscorer market.

He scored scored the first of his side’s goals in their 3-1 win over Uruguay, and has netted 10 times in 34 appearances for his country.
