World Cup Betting Preview: Netherlands v Chile

The Netherlands and Chile go into today’s game (5pm KO, Live on ITV1) knowing that they are safely through to the last 16, and the both teams to score looks the best bet at a standout 4/6 with Stan James.

The Dutch go into the game with the best goal difference, so a draw would see them take top spot and face a less daunting task on paper against either Mexico or Croatia in then next stage ith the runner-up likely to face Brazil.

Louis van Gaal’s side have impressed in different ways in both their matches, spanking Spain and then showing grit to come from behind and beat Australia.

They will be without Robin van Persie who misses the game through suspension, but still have a whole host of players capable of getting on the scoresheet.

They include Arjen Robben who looks a huge price at 7/1 with Ladbrokes in the first goalcsorer market, and also a cracking punt at 19/10 with BetVictor to net anytime.

Chile have also been one of the most impressive sides so far, and have a tough squad who are prepared to work hard as well as two cracking attackers in the shape of  Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal.

They will be confident of getting something out of this game, and I can’t see them not netting.

Indeed, the draw may well be worth a small wager at 13/5 with BetVictor, in a game which the Dutch will be very happy with just 1 point.
