Yafai blows Garcia away and Foot wins Prizefighter

Lawrence Lustig

Last night in a snowy Wolverhampton Kal Yafai proved yet again that he is one to watch in 2013 after taking just 4 rounds to wipe out Mexican Gonzalo Garcia. With the Mexican taking shots from the talented Yafai at the end of the 4th his corner pulled him out. Yafai now 7-0 will be now looking to capitalize on his pro career to date and must be looking at some sort of title by the end of 2013.

Prizefighter Welterweights III proved to be an action packed affair with a tote to toe final between Glenn Foot and Dale Evans with neither fighter wanting to give an inch and by the final round it was pretty even on my card. With the 3rd underway Foot landed a big right hand but Evans just kept coming forward and Foot had to take a massive left to the body before the end but managed to stay on his feet. So it went to the judges score cards with them making Foot the winner by split decision with Steve Gray and Richie Davis seeing 29-28 for Foot and Phil Edwards 29-28 for Evans.

All in all a great nights boxing in a packed out Civic Hall in Wolverhampton.
