Zara Hope looks potentially nicely treated on handicap dbeut in the 4.10 at Market Rasen today and worth siding with at 7/1.

Charlie Longsdon’s mare showed ability in two bumper runs, most notably on debut when fourth of eight to Girly Girly on debut at Worcester.

The five-year-old kept on well to be beaten 6 lengths, and the winner is a useful sort rated now 122 who finished a decent ninth of 16 to Limini in a Grade 1 at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen in action.

Although Zara Hope has failed to cut any ice in three subsequent starts over hurdles, she didn’t run too badly last time out when racing keenly and fading late on to finish fifth of 12 to Potters Legend at Huntingdon.

To me she looks a potential improver now going down the handicap route, and an opening mark of 97 looks exploitable on her run behind Girly Girl.

She also has the services of Graham Watters in the saddle whose claim takes another 3lb off her back, and unlike nost of her rivals remains unexposed and open to further improvement.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Zara Hope (7/1 generally available – use  BOG firms)
