Edgeworth can keep the Wolves from the door

Edgeworth has been shaping as if ready to strike and rates a solid bet at 3/1 in the 7.25 at Wolverhampton tonight

David Bridgewater’s gelding finished well to be beaten just 1/2 a length by Arizona John in an amateur riders’ handicap at Doncaster last time out and although now running off a 3lb higher mark remains very well treated.

The six-year-old won four times last year, with his last win coming in a Lingfield claimer when officially rated 74.

He now runs off just 70 and has the services of Jamie Spencer in the saddle for the first time.

Also, prior to his run at Donny, he had caught the eye in no uncertain fashion in two runs.

He had the blinds removed late by young Josh Baudains and lost loads of ground at the start when beaten just 1 1/2 lengths by Casual Mover, and was then given a very poor tactical ride here when staying on from well off the pace to finish a never nearer fourth of 8 to Strawberrymystique in a slowly run affair at Wolverhampton.

With Spencer now on top, this looks a golden opportunity for him to get back into the winners’ enclosure.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Edgeworth (3/1 BetVictor – BOG)
