Master Speaker has caught the eye on more than one occasion this season and makes plenty of appeal at 12/1 in the 5.10 at the Curragh today.
Martin Hassett’s gelding was last successful over course and distance 14 months ago when scoring be 1/2 a length off a mark of 89.
He also ran a blinder off the same rating over course and distance when second of 22 to George Bowen last September before going on to finish third at Tipperary off 91.
The six-year-old is now able to race off 90, just 1lb higher than when last victorious, and comes into the race on the back of five solid efforts where he has often shaped better than the bare result suggests.
In the last of those he was given far too much to do before keeping on to finish a 6 length fourth of 12 to Downforce over course and distance and now meets the winner on 13lb better terms.
That gives him a big shout at the weights if things drop right, and in a race which should be run to suit he looks well worth an each-way wager.
