Delightful Sleep looks decent value at 5/1 in the 6.00 at Wolverhampton this evening now reunited with Adam Kirby.

David Evans’ charge is a three time course and distance winner, with the last of those successes coming four starts back where after being held-up he made good headway two from home and ran on strongly to beat Kyle Of Bute going away by 2 1/4 lengths off a mark of 57 in the hands of Kirby.

He got put up 5lb for that success, and has since been far from disgaced in three runs.

On two of those occasions he was ridden by the claimer Eoin Walsh, and on the other by George Baker.

His best effort came under Baker on his penultimate start where he was beaten just 1 3/4 lengths over course and distance off a mark of 62.

He now gets into this off 61 and meets the winner on 6lb better terms.

That should be enough to see the placings reversed, especially now that Kirby is back in the saddle.

He has ridden the six-year-old to his last two successes and clearly knows how to get the best out of him, and thefact he is now back in the plate suggests to me that connections mean business.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Delightful Sleep (5/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
