999/1 shot Amelia now just 6s for X Factor glory

Dumped out of the X Factor by her mentor Kelly Rowland after just one performance, Amelia Lily is right back in the running to win this year’s competition according to the betting on Betfair.

The odds of the 16-year-old winning the contest have shortened dramatically ever since Frankie Cocozza was booted off the show earlier this week. Some punters on the betting exchange managed to back Amelia at the maximum price of 999/1 (£86 traded at that price alone) before her odds tumbled to just 6/1 when it was announced that one act would definitely be returning to the show.

While some customers are confident of Amelia Lily’s return, the pink haired songstress faces competition from 2 Shoes, Jonjo Kerr and James Michael for a place in the final line-up.

Betfair’s Alex Bake said: “A lot of fans think Amelia was hard done by at the start of the live shows. There’s clearly a lot of support for the girl and our customers think she could potentially go all the way if she wins the public over this weekend.”

To win the X Factor 2011 – Betfair bet: 3/1 Marcus Collins, 4/1 Janet Devlin, 9/2 Craig Colton, 6/1 Amelia Lily,  15/2 Misha B, 9/1 Littlemix, 74/1 Kitty Brucknell, 159/1 James Michael, 399/1 2 Shoes, 499/1 Jonjo Kerr
