Mockney The Week

Welcome to the first “Mockney’s midweek milestone”

Firstly, I’m Simon or Mockney as I’m known. I currently reside in Cardiff but born and bred in Brentwood, Essex. I’m a loyal West Ham supporter COYI! I do try to be as socially active as possible so here’s my insight to the current goings on this last week.

Okay so I have to touch base on the new season, everything is going as expected with some big business going down, Arsenal’s board are clearly enjoying their weekly money fights too much to part with any of it! And their ever strengthening neighbours (Spurs) are once again signing quality, the sort of quality that will make the difference to a top 4 finish. I personally think Spurs are mounting a decent title challenge this year let alone a top 4 finish, clearly it’s too late for the Gunners to make any sort of impact in the current window so  think they are going to struggle and Tottenham are going to walk past them, we shall see with the imminent derby fixture fast approaching.

This weekend I was lucky enough to be at the Game between Cardiff and Man city on Sunday up with the posh farts for the first home game of the season, The hospitality and the atmosphere was something else so a big thanks to CCFC for that.

I was lucky enough to see the blue birds allot during their winning campaign last year so I’m well aware of what the team is capable of when there is a decent crowd behind them. Campbell is decent,  very quick and looks very sharp this season, I remember when spurs were offered him in the Berbatov deal from Man Utd years ago so knew he had a bit of pedigree ( I know who I ‘d rather in my team now) fair play the whole team  they did well and i fancy them to have  decent home form this season even  if  man city were only firing on 60%.( I had a 5-1 away win on my slip so think the bookies definitely made their money Sunday).

I decided to go out to Cardiff bay after the game with a few friends, the place is normally crawling with Birds and normally a really good night with decent music but for some reason it was loved up couple’s night so not much showing down there, sensing I was wasting my time I fucked off home.

Apart from Cardiff there have been no real shocks this weekend with the results, Millwall once again fried my nut with a very late penalty that cost me £700 and as an Iron I don’t need any excuses to dislike those buggers!

A decent point for the Hammers although I think Newcastle are there for the taking this year especially if they let Cabaye leave. I do like what big Sam has done with the place, Brady is a class act too, I got allot of respect for the girl.

A bit of footy on tonight “Capital one cup” nothing really to write home about but I fancy Newcastle to crash out of this one tonight they just haven’t got it this year and I think this game could be a potential banana skin for Pardew.

This weekend has a few tasty games but as I do fancy a flutter now and then here’s how id call it: Man city, Southampton, West Ham, Everton and Palace to win, Newcastle to draw. (Keep an eye on my twitter for my betting tips during the week).

I need to say a big well done to the England cricket team on their ashes’ win, smashing the Australians 3-0, that’s huge! Well done lads! Massive win. I don’t normally follow a massive amount of cricket but you got to love the banter between us and the ozzy’s .

Now, away  from sport  I purposely never get involved in any sort of reality television,  I try and stay away from soaps too but you have to keep one eye on corrie because Tina is hot, I did keep one eye on Geordie shore, and one thing I do know is its only a matter of time before that charlotte bird on Celebrity Big Brother is going to either get naked or shag  someone, annoyingly that Mario bloke from my home town is the only one who probably has a chance so I may have to  take it on the chin and chance watching it if I’m going to see her take it on the chin  or a cheeky view of her in her birthday suit ( it will happen at some point ) Maybe one to keep an eye on during the week.
