It’s Not Over Until The Fat Lady Sings

Amazingly to me (for February), ITV have sent their cameras to the all-weather from Southwell and although I appreciate they are perhaps the best on offer, this is the jumps season in case anyone forgot? Luckily the Flat is backed up by both Kempton and Newcastle so with plenty to pick from., its time to go to work.

Starting with a stab in the dark, I have to back Gary Moore’s Peking Opera in the 1.50pm at Kempton even if he is a big price in a very small field. World has been for some time that this was going to be the stable’s Triumph Hurdle horse and although that now seems unlikely, he is clearly held in high regard.

Bought out of Aidan O’Brien’s yard where he won twice and came home third in the Group Three Ballyroan Stakes at Naas on his last outing for a rating of 101, he has a touch of class about him and if he handles the ground, he is most certainly overpriced if it comes to Flat speed up the home straight.

Daily Sport Recommended Bet 1pt Win Peking Opera 1.50pm Kempton 8/1 most bookmakers
