IT’S been a busy week here at BKB™ HQ – as is the case most weeks

Two of our champions have signed new contracts to stay with the original – and best – bareknuckle boxing company and we have a new referee as well.

Scott McHugh and Kevin Greenwood have both put pen to paper on new deals and we are delighted they are staying with us.

Scott has been with us since 2018 and he was crowned world flyweight champion at BKB 36 in January with a points win over Tony Lafferty.

That was a repeat of Scott’s debut with us and he’s come a long way since then, fighting in the States and winning British and now world honours.

Scott promised “big things to come” after resigning with us and we are excited about what the future holds.

Kevin is another who won a title at BKB 36, claiming the vacant British heavyweight championship with an exciting stoppage victory over Eryk Majda.

Kevin showed his mettle and his quality that night, as he did on his BKB™ debut against Lawrence Tracey.

Kevin has had a lengthy career boxing with gloves on in both the amateur and professional rings and says nothing hurts quite as much as BKB™!

He’s had to dig deep in both fights and he’s come through to become British champion and a big favourite with fans of BKB™.

I’m sure many of you will be looking forward to seeing where Kevin’s journey in BKB TM takes him.

The other signing we’ve made this week is a referee, Ian John-Lewis.

Boxing fans will doubtless know him as the third man in the ring for many of boxing’s biggest fights.

Ian has refereed – among others – Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Amir Khan and, as a former top fighter himself, he knows what the fighters are going through and when he needs to step in.

Ian has also judged many world title fights and I can’t think of too many British officials who know fighters and fighting better than he does.

Ian looks set to be at BKB 37 – and that is heading for a sell out!

The Midlands public have really got behind our show in Wolverhampton on March 30 and if you want to be there, get your tickets fast before they all sell out!

Until next week

Joe Smith-Brown
