Luck Be A Lady This Afternoon

Someone once sang “I don’t like Mondays” but for me Sundays are the curse – poor racing most weeks when the majority of us have more time to sit back and enjoy the battle with the bookmakers.

Today is no different, but I have dug out three good options, and if we can get a winner or more I will be a happy bunny. Starting at Plumpton over hurdles, and I like the chances of Lady Caro ahead of the 2.50pm, a two-mile handicap hurdle.

Trained by Emma Lavelle, the seven-year-old is already a course and distance winner which is a bonus at the Sussex track, and was very easy to back on her first start since April when sent off at odds of 25/1 before finishing third at Stratford, beaten less than three lengths. My assumption is that she will improve considerably for the race, and if that is the case she has a solid chance of a second career win this afternoon.
