THE CROSSRAIL rolling stock contract will be going to Bombardier according to Ladbrokes.
A review of the tendering process means that the firm and their Derby plant are now in pole position to win the contract and as such see their odds of securing the deal cut to even money.
Their biggest rivals appear to be German firm Siemens at 6/4 and Hitachi Rail Europe & Spanish CAF are joint 4/1 outsiders to win the contract estimated to be in the region of £1.4 billion.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The latest odds look good for UK industry. Bombardier are warm favourites for the gig with the obvious threat coming from Siemens.”
