The future of motoring

Many people talk about the future of motoring without knowing exactly what this means. However, it is a very important topic for many of us because cars are essentially part of many of our everyday lifestyles. They provide us with transport and the freedom to roam wherever we like, whereas public transport can often be quite restricting. With this in mind, we can begin to see how important the future of cars has become.

One simple way that car manufacturers are developing the future of motoring is by constantly looking at new designs. For example, the Honda Civic Type S is a revolutionary new car. This vehicle boasts gorgeous looks, both from the outside and in the interior of the vehicle. It also has great performance and its fuel economy is second to none. It has all the great Honda parts that you could want in a car. It is very cheap to run, especially for a 2.2 turbo diesel car. This diesel engine also gives the vehicle incredible performance and handling. It is an extremely reliable car and epitomises the future of motoring.

Another hot topic that is often discussed is electric cars and the impact they could have on the wider industry. The concept of the electric car has been around for quite a few years now, with manufacturers such as Honda leading the way in this area. However, the idea is yet to really take off to any great degree. There are some very simple and easy to understand reasons why the electric car industry has not taken off. One notable worry amongst many car users is the amount of electric charging points that exist across the UK. Charging points are obviously essential to owning an electric car and without them there is no point in the concept. But are there enough of these charging points? Well, there are many schemes, including the government’s ‘Plugged in places’, which are designed to make charging points more widely accessible and help people and businesses make the switch to using electric cars.

One other major concern, in relation to electric cars, is how long they can run for? What is the mileage on an electric car? The average range of an electric car is usually around 80 miles. There are hopes within the industry that new models of electric car will have increased mileage and many companies are working to achieve this goal.

Hydrogen cars may also be set to play a significant role in the future of the motoring industry. These work via hydrogen fuel cells and are said to be cheaper than electricity. However, there are great concerns about the hydrogen infrastructure, which will not be easily achieved. Many people do see it as a more cost-effective way than investing in electric infrastructure. With all these types of cars, there is one common incentive and that is to lower our current emissions.

We have touched on just a few of the potential future markets for motoring, but there are many more and as the sector expands there will surely be new technology breakthroughs that will help motoring progress even further.
