Neutrafa was ultra impressive when scoring last time out and is of major interest at 10/1 in the 4.40 at Sandown.
John Mackie’s filly shaped with bags of promise when fifth of 13 on her debut in a maiden at Pontefract, and then bolted up by six lengths at Ripon two weeks ago.
She travelled ominously well throughout that 1m contest, and after hitting the front two from home forged clear to beat Quadrant easing down.
The runner-up has subsequently gone on land a maiden at Ffos Las by four lengths of an official rating of 78 and that makes Neutrafa look potentially very well treated this afternoon on her handicap debut from an opening mark of just 76.
There is no doubt in my mind that she has the potential to be much better than that, and with Charles Bishop taking off another 7lb she could be chucked-in if continuing her rapid progress.
There are a couple of unexposed runners from big yards in the line-up, but she is definitely the one that I want to be with and her shrewd trainer would not be running her in this unless he thought she was up to the task.
He has saddled just 14 runners at the Esher track since 2000, resulting in three wins and two places for a strike rate of just over 21%.
That’s a great strike rate for a small trainer, and the fact that he is pitching Neutrafa in this company at the track speaks volumes in my eyes.
Recommended bet: 5pts each-way Neutrafa (10/1 bet365, Paddy Power, Victor Chandler – BOG)
