10/1 O Ma Lad weighted to go well at Haydock

O Ma Lad is back down below his last winning mark and looks worth siding with at 10/1 in the 5.10 at Haydock today.

John Quinn’s gelding was in good form last spring, winning at Catterick off a mark of 83 before following up in a class 3 contest at Hamilton off 87.

The six-year-old was also far from disgraced on seasonal reappearance when 7th of 14 to Elidor in a class 2 contest at Thirsk and then posted a really solid effort to finish runner-up to Sirvino in a class 3 affair at Hamilton off 83.

O Ma Lad could then only finish 8th of 15 at York when last seen in action, where he stayed on late from well off the pace, and shaped as if needing the run at Hamilton last time out after a 64 day break.

He looks sure to strip much fitter for that outing, and has since been dropped a further 2lb.

That means that ne now races off 80, 7lb lower than when last successful, and gives him major claims from a handicapping perspective in this class 4 contest.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way O Ma Lad (10/1 Paddy Power – BOG)
