10/1 Secret Asset has plenty going for him at Kempton

Secret Asset has been knocking on the door of late and looks decent value at 10/1 in the 7.10 at Kempton this evening.

Jane Chapple-Hyam’s gelding is on a losing run of 14 having not scored since landing a class 2 handicap at York back in July 2013 off a mark of 96.

The 10-year-old was put up to 100 after that success, and is now able to race of just 80.

That gives the veteran a big chance from a handicapping perspective, especially following a return to form three starts back when an eye-cathing third of 19 to Straegic Force over course and distance.

He was held-up well off the pace that day before staying on strongly to be beaten just 1 1/4 lengths and now meets the winner on 3lb better terms.

Secret Asset baccked that up with a solid 1 length third at Chelmsford City when riddent oo agressively, and ran better than his finishing position suggests last time out over 5f at the same venue when racing wide throughout before staying on well inside the final furlong to finish a 2 length fourth to Royal Bajan in a class 3 contest.

The drop back down into class 4 company and step back up to 6f look sure to suit, and from a decent draw in stall 1 everything looks in place for a big run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Secret Asset (10/1 bet365, BetVictor, Boylesports, Stan James – BOG)
