11/1 Artesana worth a flutter at Ffos Las

Artesana makes plenty of appeal at 11/1 in the 8.30 at Ffos Las this evening now eased in grade.

William Knight’s filly hinted at ability in three maidens as a juvenile, most notably when ninth of 13 to Time Test in a 7f contest at Sandown which has thrown-up plenty of subsequent winners.

They include the ill-fated Stravagante who finished one place and a length behind Artesana and went on to land a class 2 handicap at Epsom in terrific style off a mark of 89.

Artesana went on to shape with plenty of promise on her handicap debut on seasonal reappearance at Chepstow when third to Honour Promise off her current mark of 60, keeping on nicely after being slowly away to be beaten just over 4 lengths.

She also ran well two starts back when chasing home Hound Music in a class 5 contest at Windsor and was also far from disgraced last time out in a similar grade affair at Sandown.

Although beaten 8 lengths when staying on to be nearest at the finish in the latter, the winner and runner-up are both progressive sorts who have won since and the runner-up went on to finish a solid second next time up.

It gives the form a strong look in the context of this lower grade class 6 contest, and Artesana is able to race in it off an unchanged mark of 62.

Another plus is that Knight has a 60% strike rate with his runners at the Welsh venue in the past 12 months, saddling 3 winners from 5 runners.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Artesana (11/1 BetVictor,Coral, Ladbrokes – BOG)
